Rob McCloud, Ed.D.

U.S. Army Retired

President

Rob is originally from the Alabama/Georgia area and retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service in strategic transportation, including multiple joint and multinational deployments supporting Desert Shield/Desert Storm, OIF, and OEF. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and previously served as an Education and Training Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs. A former Senior and Junior Vice Commander with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Rob brings extensive leadership, education, and veteran advocacy experience to build an organization dedicated to connecting and supporting military-connected alumni, veterans, and their families. He holds a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration from The University of Alabama, an M.Ed. in Adult and Lifelong Learning from the University of Arkansas, and an Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University. Rob lives in the Greater Kansas City area with his wife and their two dogs and is a proud father and grandfather. His daughter is an Alabama alumna, and two sons served in the U.S. Air Force. RTR!

Destiny Perez-Sadler

U.S. Air Force Retired

Vice President

Destiny Perez-Sadler is a Texas-born military veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force for more than thirteen years. As an aircraft maintenance technician on E-3 Sentry AWACS and C-130E/H/J Hercules aircraft, she deployed several times in support of multiple operations and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Avionics Systems Technology. Destiny finished her military career as an instructor for Air Education and Training Command, earning Instructor of Technology and Military Science as a second Associate of Applied Science. Following her medical retirement in 2016, she graduated from The University of Alabama in 2018 with a BA, designing her Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Dance Production and Pedagogy. Destiny completed a dual master's graduate program at Southern Methodist University in 2023, earning an MA in Non-Profit Management and an MBA with concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Organizational Management. She currently serves on the board for the BAMA in Kansas City Chapter and lives in the KCMO area with her family.

Michael Johns

U.S. Army Retired

Director of Finance and Budgeting

Michael earned a Master of Science in Human Environmental Sciences from The University of Alabama and holds a degree in Culinary Arts. He is a former percussionist with the Million Dollar Band from 2000-2002. Michael currently works for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, as a quality review specialist and trainer. He previously served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and served the public at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He brings experience in federal program oversight, quality assurance, training, and veteran advocacy to the board. Michael is committed to building a worldwide community connecting veterans, servicemembers, military families, students, alumni, and friends of the University.

Michael Wallace, Ed.D.

U.S. Navy Retired

Director of Community Engagement and Advancement

Michael is a retired military intelligence officer with twenty years of active service. His assignments included Naval Special Warfare, Defense Human Intelligence, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Office of Naval Intelligence. He currently serves as Senior Professor of Practice and Director of the Emergency and Security Studies Program at Tulane University's School of Professional Advancement. He also serves as Co-Director of the Faculty and Staff Veterans Group and as faculty advisor to the Student Veterans of America chapter. He is Co-Founder and Director of the academic journal Pracademic Affairs. A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, he holds a Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane University, a master's in Military History from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Doctorate in Education from The University of Alabama. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Naval War College.

Keigan McCloud

U.S. Air Force Veteran

Director of Communications

Keigan is a native of Enterprise, Alabama, and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity with a focus on Digital Forensics and Vulnerability Management. His communications and technology experience includes building and maintaining the website for his mother's business as well as his own personal website. Keigan previously served as Senior Vice Commander and Treasurer of a DAV Auxiliary unit, bringing leadership, service, and organizational experience to his role as Director of Communications. His connection to The University of Alabama runs through his father and sister, who are both graduates. Military service is also a family tradition: his father served in the U.S. Army, and his brother served in the U.S. Air Force. Keigan currently lives in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, with his fiance and their four dogs.
